In LSD the player navigates through a psychedelic dream world. The idea is simply to walk around and explore things in a dream environment. There are many strange environments in this world, and one way to travel through them is by foot. However, if the player bumps into walls or other objects in the game, they will be transported to another environment instantaneously through a system called "linking". Bumping into people, animals, or special objects usually results in a stranger dream. Each dream can last up to 10 minutes, after which the player will 'wake up', when the screen fades … More

However, if the player bumps into walls or other objects in the game, they will be transported to another environment instantaneously through a system called "linking". Bumping into people, animals, or special objects usually results in a stranger dream. Each dream can last up to 10 minutes, after which the player will 'wake up', when the screen fades away and the player is sent back to the game's initial menu. However, if the player falls off a cliff or into a hole in the dream, then the player will wake up immediately. There is a graph that appears at the end of each dream that keeps track of the player's state of mind; the states are Upper, Downer, Static and Dynamic, as referring to the environments and the general feel of the dream the player just went through. Past states may have effects on later dreams. Less

I enjoyed the discussion on the game more then the game itself.
This review is for the PlayStation version

i jumped onto an emulator with playing the game from a download wikepedia. Now i saved this game, i didnt really want to play it until i was ready and out of option i decided ill play it today. I tried avoiding all videos about the game and when playing it today i felt let down. You see the game is really only builds from 5 levels with it being re textudered, with hardly anything happening imbetween. A lot of people will describe this game as a mind boggling experience and while it is i dont think its really too effective. In my opinion layers of fear creates the wtf mood really well. But one thing i have really understood while playing it is that it really is just a subjective game and its a game i like to read about then actually play. its a game that gives me the vibe that there may be rumours out there about playing a really fckd level and if i was to read it i may actually go "hmm wouldnt shock me" and that is something i love about the game. Im not giving it a 4 stars because its good, because in my opinion it really isnt for me, but im giving it four starts because it creates disscussion, intrest and provides a really 'what if' style. I guess you could give it points, im unsure if any walking simulators came before it so maybe you could argue it created the genre, but id say check it out, maybe play for an hour or two and if you like it finish it. Its just a subjective game but even if you felt like it was a waste of time you should appreciate the potential of urben legends sourounding it. Instead of being a given story it instead makes the player feel like the artists. Filling in all the gaps.
