My favorite puppet combo game
I’ve long been hesitant to try any games from the Puppet Combo catalogue (both theirs and the ones they publish). Almost everyone I tried has either been 1) a walking sim, or 2) a “hide from the killer” type game. My buddy told me it actually is a survival horror, so finally I pushed through- I’m so glad I did! It joins my other favorite game, Night at the Gates of Hell, as my 2 favorite puppet combo games.
This one is pretty much straight survival horror, with really fun puzzles and just demented horror displays (and great b-movie cutscenes). I loved it, despite the only enemy being a stalker…. not usually my thing. I guess this and The Fear Business have softened my stance on that.
But ya, great retro PSX style survival horror game, and I really hope they make more in this style. I would LOVE if they just made a straight up Resident Evil style game, with actual killable enemies, maybe even a merchant, inventory management, a map… one can dream. But this might be the best I’ll get from them.
Anyone that has read this far - is there any others they’ve made I might like? Really didn’t like Bloodwash, Sniper Killer, Christmas Massacre, or Stay Out of The House. The Glass Staircase was… decent, but not as good as Murder House.
