Intriguing Beginning Dulls Out Over TIme

Oh wait now I'm actually on "Stage 2" after the boating part. I'm oddly enjoying it so far. And some of the tunes are particularly good for a GB game. Honestly the controls are pretty tight for a Gameboy game. And I like how the duck and dock-and-throw works.
Day 1
Seems there are five "stages." Pretty short overall then. How I like my Gameboy platformers :-p Seems there is some replayability cuz I noticed areas I can get to up above, or if I hadn't gone so far to the right, I could've got to a different area below. I think they only lead to extra points and health and whatnot but who knows. Maybe warp points :-p I suppose I could look that up but it's nice being able to approach these types of short pick-up-and-play platformers with truly fresh eyes. Like how it felt with just a manual at most as a kid. Before the Internet yada yada. Great feeling enjoying a game enogh to get to know it, tho this one certainly isn't robust, complex, or innovative. Still, so far a nice game.
I mean really the collision masks really are pretty awful. And some of the tunes are that annoying sort of GB sound. Yet here I am continuing to play.
Starting to burn out Stage 4ish. Might as well finish it tho. Still at least a 3 star tho. Was hoping for 4+ :-p
I dunno why exactly but this annoying jump was the final straw for me. I hate when games design a level around a narrow jump like this. And more and more the bad collision masks were getting old, and the level design more the annoying style. But so it goes. Overall, a surprisingly good GB platformer!
Look: 7.5/10 Gotta love that GB vibe
Sound: 7/10 At first seemed particularly good, but got kind of annoying later.
Play: 7.5/10 Better than expected, but burned out on it.
Feel: 7.5/10 Had a great vibe at the beginning
Attachment: 7.5/10 Would make the list of GB platformers to replay. But not any general list of platformers haha.
Overall: 7.4/10
Completion: Part way through Stage 4
Playtime: ~25 mins
