The game primarily makes use of Vocaloids, a series of singing synthesizer software, and the songs created using these Vocaloids most notably the virtual-diva Vocaloid Hatsune Miku. The game is the first video game to utilize the Vocaloid software developed by the Yamaha Corporation. In addition, Sega has released Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Dreamy Theater, a downloadable game on the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3. It allows players to play Project Diva on the PlayStation 3 with updated visuals though it requires the PlayStation Portable to be plugged into the PlayStation 3 via a USB cable.

According to the save data on my psp, I haven't played this since 2010. I remember being REALLY bad at it... unlocking like 4 songs and then never touching it again because it was frustrating to just continually fail at something.
I started playing it 2 days ago since I finally bought a new charger for my psp..... and I've been hooked??? Idk why I was bad at these games before cause I'm pretty great at them now?!
Unlike a lot of rhythm games I've tried to play on the ps4, this one doesn't make you hold things down, flick to the left/right, or operate multiple buttons at the same time. It's just 4 buttons. It's simple and a blast.
I'm 94% through unlocking the songs, and have a LONG way to go to unlock all the costumes.... but this is super fun.
