Visual Appeal and Imagination Can't Save Repetitive Gameplay

Yeet and Boik are two dudes who love playing video games. One day at the local arcade, the monsters in the games aren't there any more and the fun suddenly ends in Game Over! Turns out, a teddy bear known as Sweet HunnyBunz is the culprit. If Yeet and Boik want to keep scorin’ they're going to have to team up and bust their favorite Video-Villains out of prison, Bust-A-Move style! enter image description here
Some of the level design concepts are quite cool. Here all the blocks are turned into sushi rolls of various kinds. Fun!

So far, Accursed Toys has made an Absurd intro to what is a rather mellow but fun action-puzzle Bust-a-Move type game. It has weird humor that pops up now and then along with some adult themes (like suicide when you give up on a level).

The level designs showcase a lot of variety in both solutions and style of solving puzzles. In some levels you bounce blocks off things when you throw them (it is similar to Bust-a-Move but also different) Another creative level has you going up and down different elevators to get the right block down the optimal path.

The environments themselves are brightly colored and visually appealing, suiting the game's garish style.

While technically an action-puzzle game, the actual action is limited. You simply move left to right and toss blocks. There are no enemies to fight or items to collect that interrupt solving each puzzle. The challenge is accuracy, since you are throwing at an angle. Miss the target and you lose health. This is what makes the game hard. So despite the imaginative level designs, the core gameplay can feel a bit repetitive and dry at times. The music is plentiful but hits annoying notes here and there.

On the plus side, there is a 2-player competitive mode which might make the experience more interesting. Overall, I'd cautiously recommend this to big fans of Bust-A-Move or similar falling block puzzles seeking something new. More casual players are unlikely to find enough action to stay engaged in this cool looking game.
