Whenever I think of this game I picture that green color on the cover, a color you’ll also see a lot of the gameplay through since most missions requires using your night vision goggles. The story is what you’d expect from a Tom Clancy project and the gameplay feels like a mix between Rainbow Six and Conflict, with a bit of Delta Force thrown in, as you command your counter terrorist squad on missions across Eastern Europe.

Music is bland and forgettable, and I can’t believe the soundbite of the crickets loop after only 2-3 seconds…that’s almost unforgivable. The levels and their environments are very open and quite barren, which can get repetitive quick, and that isn’t helped by the monochrome, muddy graphics and the shitty HUD and UI. The second half is the best, with the atmospheric levels in the rain being a highlight…overall, Ghost Recon is a somewhat solid tactical shooter, but in my humble opinion you can ghost it.

Pretty Good! Not as satisfying or tactically sound as Rainbow Six, but still a very fun tactile shooter with some really great missions. The team AI and amount of large open field levels are probably my biggest complaints, but the back half of the game is really excellent and lots of fun can be had with the amount of ways you can approach a given situation. The urban levels were easily the best, but they also learned a bit from the Rainbow six stealth levels as well, with some really fun rescue missions thrown into the mix. Definitely could've lived without some of the tank escort missions though since the optional mission objectives were a pain in the ass.

Overall a good game, despite some frustrations with Team AI and enemy placement. Probably not a must play, but for anyone looking for a larger scale R6, this game has you covered.
