Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is the third game in the Mario & Luigi series of games. Players control Mario and Luigi simultaneously in the side-scrolling platform environment of Bowser's body, while also controlling the Koopa King himself in the top-down world of the Mushroom Kingdom. Similar to games like Earthbound, enemy encounters are seen as actual enemies that players can avoid or attempt to strike early. The actual battles are a combination of turn-based menu attacks, and timed reactions to enemies during battle. By watching the way an enemy reacts, you can anticipate their attack and avoid it … More

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story takes Partners in Time and especially Superstar Saga and just wipes the floor with them. I was expecting it to be good but I wasn't expecting it to be THIS GOOD.

For starters, the concept and story is so creative. The Mushroom Kingdom is experiencing a viral outbreak known as the Blorbs, causing residents of the mushroom kingdom to inflate. When Bowser is kicked out of the meeting on how to fix this issue, he runs into a cloaked figure who gives him a mushroom. Upon eating it, Bowser sucks Mario, Luigi, and the rest of Mushroom Kingdom inside of him. Mario and Luigi must explore Bowser's body as Bowser tries to stop Fawful from taking over the world.

They take this gimmick and go nuts with it. You control Bowser on the top screen as he breaks stones, breathes fire, and finds his minions... While Mario and Luigi explore his body to assist him. Helping him lift heavy objects, lose weight, and even revive him into Giant Bowser

Mario and Luigi are accompanied by Starlow who does the talking before (which I already said in the last review is a good thing). The …

Mario and Luigi are accompanied by Starlow who does the talking before (which I already said in the last review is a good thing). The writing and story progression is a clever mix of humor and tense. In my opinion, Bowser is the main character in this game and this story is so investing that I don't think it would work with just the Mario Bros.

The gameplay is super smooth and responsive and isn't stupidly tedious like the first game.

And man the music is insanely good

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is what the first game should've felt like. Such a great game
