So clearly going downhill, but...
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

Turok 3 was the one I had never tried, unlike 1 and 2, which I grabbed with maximum childhood hype to finally play proper and beat.

I don't think this matters much, as it is very obvious how this game was quite botched, and kinda unfinished at points... BUT.

There's still a lot of fun to be had with some of the levels and weapons, when they are allowed to be a bit more open ended and exploration based. You're just kinda interrupted every 5 minutes to be taken through another corridor because Half Life was the game to beat back in the day... And let me tell you, Half Life this isn't.

Turok was never gonna be able to compete with Half Life in the storytelling department, and sticking to their jungles and temples and alien lairs with crazy weapons and wild enemies... That would've been the right choice.

Perhaps they spread themselves too thing trying to make the 2 protagonist thing work (it doesn't), but I think the main reason is Acclaim forcing crunch on the whole team while they fuck their way up to bankruptcy.

Really hoping they remaster Rage Wars so I can close this chapter …

Really hoping they remaster Rage Wars so I can close this chapter of videogame history, because I sure as hell am not touching that new Turok thing that's coming out chasing Destiny's tail.
