"Old"World Bounty

Good points:

๐ŸŽจ Graphically, for its time, it was very decent and it still holds up well thanks to the 2010 HD version.

๐ŸŽฎ Very instinctive controls.

๐Ÿ˜„ Small touches of humor, for which the world of Oddworld has a real knack.

๐Ÿ•น๏ธ A still unique proposition today, mixing an FPS with living ammunition and third person phases.

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Oddworldโ€™s art direction is still as charming.

Bad points:

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Gamepad support on the PC version is disastrous or even nonexistent.

๐Ÿ’ฐ The Switch version is expensive (30 moolah). Better to get the Oddworld Collection: this game, Munchโ€™s Oddysee and the very good New'N'Tasty for the same price.

๐Ÿ”„ Extremely repetitive gameplay and much less interesting in its second half.

๐Ÿ“œ Unconvincing plot twist.

๐ŸŽง Horrible sound design: sounds loop too often, are annoying and shrill, and the French dub doesnโ€™t help.

Info and Conclusion:

Price: โ‰ˆ 30 euros on Switch โ‰ˆ 20 euros on PS, Xbox One and Series X/S and โ‰ˆ 10 euros on PC Available on: Mac, PC (Microsoft Windows), PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S Developer: Oddworld Inhabitants

๐Ÿ’” The game offers originality but has aged very poorly. The progression lacks coherence: many elements quickly become useless or redundant. Worse, in the second half, the gameplay encourages or forces total brute force, turning the game into an almost classic FPS, to the detriment of the story and the universe developed until then. What a shame, given the initial promise of playing a bounty hunter mixing different mechanics and tactical possibilities!
