Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is a faithful remake of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee where the pre-rendered sceneries are recreated in real-time 3D without changing the original gameplay. It also replaces the single screens linked together of the original version into a true 2.5D side-scrolling game. While there are various enhancements and details to the character and the scenery, the basic gameplay is still largely similar in a side by side comparison. The GameSpeak system Abe uses to command and talk to other characters start with the same commands, but can later be expanded. This version of the game supports leaderboards for the completion time of each mode and the overall game. There are three difficulty levels and the game. It includes the original cooperative function of the original game when another player can take over when the first player dies, taking turns controlling Abe. Read less

I started this game in high school (late 90's) and finished it in 2026.

It only took me 30yrs to play this game all the way to the end. Only because of the Quicksave and Quickload feature, in this "New 'n' Tasty" version, would I have ever even attempted to see it this far again. It only took me 30yrs to play this game all the way to the end. Only because of the Quicksave and Quickload feature, in this "New 'n' Tasty" version, would I have ever even attempted to see it this far again. While I know many critics would down-vote "cheating" through the hardnessusing this and features like it, I find it more fun to see the story to it's completion. I want to experience what the creators made, rather than giving up in frustration, and moving on to other games/stories without completing them. Thank you Oddworld Inhabitants for making this possible, Give me a thumbs up if you agree! 👍🏻

Sadly, bad controls.

I wanted to like this game so bad. I've known about the game since my childhood but never played it. Now that the HD version available for free on Epic, I give it a shot.

Abysmal PC Controls

This is one of the worst PC ports that I have ever seen (to be fair, nothing beats Mortal Kombat X in that department). This is one of the worst PC ports that I have ever seen (to be fair, nothing beats Mortal Kombat X in that department). It is nearly impossible to control your character reliably (jumps are by far the worst, but none of the moves--save left and right--seem to work consistently). If this was a beloved game of yours and you want it for PC for sentimental reasons, you might try one of two things: 1) try the demo on Steam and see if you get better results with your keyboard than I did, or 2) use a controller--I did not bother to pull my controller out and test it, as all of the on-screen instructions were for the keyboard and it worked so poorly that I was not inspired to try to figure out the controller inputs. There may be a promising platformer here (the trailers reminded me a bit of the old Earthworm Jim comedy), but it's impossible to get to it due to the clunky port.
