Beat on slow motion mode. This was a short slightly simplified Mega man clone lacking in cool special weapons and boss weaknesses. Rather the core movement, platforming, shooting and level design was pretty solid Mega Man. There was a lot of hanging from things, timing enemy attacks, and aiming for specific parts that made the game fairly fun. There were only 3 special weapons that could be found as pickups during the stages but only 1 could be held at a time. Heavy which fell to the ground and traveled in both directions along the floor. Could be useful against lower elevations. Thunder did a diagonal up and diagonal down shot, which was the only way to hit up without jumping. Arrow did a slower more powerful forward shot that stayed around as a platform for a short while. I found it the most useful to burn down certain enemies faster. The bosses were fairly good and I had trouble on the final boss until I went to the left platform where the infinite adds appeared in my line of fire to die easily. Best part of the game was the press up to block, something I'm sure Mega Man …

Preliminary: I never watched much Darkwing Duck tho I always liked the idea of it, and I am liking this beginning video/tune and am impressed by the Look and Sound for an NES game. Tho like with the well-made Little Samson, we shall see if the NES limitations/frustrations bog things down for a 92 game.

Ugh not excited to read it's very Megaman-esque and with infinitely respawning enemies. I do like the hanging gimmick though.

A lot of the sound effects remind me of C64 era platformers. It's a good game so far, but I'm not in love. I'm mostly just playing through because it's a platformer. I'm on the third level now. Think I will take a break and decide whether a 2 or 3 and whether worth moving on. I wish I had nostalgia for Darkwing Duck to help boost it. And I wish the enemies took fewer hits and fewer other Megaman qualities.

Yeahhhh for me the casual enemies are just too much of a chore :-X I feel bad cuz this is so well-loved but. Just not for me.

It was one of my favorite games, when I was kid. Good music, good graphics for NES, funny, interesting levels, not repetitive, not superhard. Decided to try it now. Still good and still I was capable to beat it.

Take Mega Man's platforming and weapon-based action, plus Ninja Gaiden's ability to hang from platforms (plus the respawning enemies) and you've got Darkwing Duck. Very fun, and with great tunes.

Completed on NES emulator (no savestates)

I'd rather play Mega Man but this is a decent alternative I guess...
