After working for 13 hours on Friday I was super pooped last night ; so I only got an hour on this so far. But it feels good to be playing Persona again! Can't wait to jump back in and put some actual time on it.

P5R is this high already!? When will it top vanilla? Now I'm even more tempted to get a PlayStation for this game alone. enter image description here

Playing the PS5 version of the royal. I am currently 2 small trophies away from platinum, having beating the 'original' game and just finishing up the last, extra, part of the royal version. This game has been an absolute delight to play from front to end. The music, the dungeons, the story writing and the exploration part have all been near perfection. While there are 1 or 2 boring 'dungeons' (palaces) in the mid part of the game, they do not really put a dent in the overall experience with this game, and they are quickly forgotten with all the goodness that comes after.

I would definitely recommend playing the Royal version of the game, as it improves so much on the base game (i've played that version on ps4), it's almost like a different game, in a good way.

Holy shit. Persona 4 Golden was really what revived my love for JRPGs, and though I loved Persona 5, it really wasn't an all-time favorite. Well, screw that, now it is, and I'm not even done yet. 78 hours in and I'm loving nearly every single thing about it.

I'd kill to play it already and I'm getting impatient since I don't have a PS4. It makes no sense to release the sequel on both Switch and PC before the original or the enhanced version. Please just make it an inevitability, ATLUS.

Heck, I bet that SMT V will be coming to PC as well before P5.

You know I've been on the Internet since long enough when I wrote my review for this like two days ago yet I'm scared of posting it just in case I anger people.

Wow. Finished this today and it feels really good to be done. Towards the end I was just ready for it to be over. I'm excited to see where Persona 6 goes with the series but for now I'm quite content to call this one done.

I did miss out on the True Ending - not knowing the exact requirements - so I might get back to this one day to see that and get the trophies but yeah, I'm pretty well done with JRPGs for a while.

The storytelling goes down fast after Nijima's Palace, uh?

A very obvious twist, a nonsensical plan that only works by hiding information from the player, the villains telling each other their evil plan out loud...

The battle against Okumura is INCREDIBLY badly designed to the point where the challenge is not even fun because it's just downright unfair. Yeah, let's throw a bunch of enemies at you that recover all life if you don't kill them in two rounds, have way too much defense, can't all-out them for some reason, and the only way of …

The battle against Okumura is INCREDIBLY badly designed to the point where the challenge is not even fun because it's just downright unfair. Yeah, let's throw a bunch of enemies at you that recover all life if you don't kill them in two rounds, have way too much defense, can't all-out them for some reason, and the only way of hurting them is exploiting the baton passes and hoping for the best. WITH A COUNTDOWN.

Well, time to waste at least an hour and several ingame days farming elemental damage objects so I have a slight chance of winning. Yay. Fun.

Update:

I can't leave the palace because I sent the calling card. I may be locked in an unwinnable situation unless I spend hours grinding XP. Fun indeed.

Damn this game is addictive. Just over a week and I've managed to clock up 50 hours (perks of being a teaching with summer holidays!). Everything about this game is just so stylish and it flaunts that distinct style so well. It was a little jarring at first but I've gotten used to it. There's just so much that's amazing about this game it's insanely hard to put it into words.

Here's to easily sinking another 50 hours into the game!
