It feels like it can’t focus on a specific target: it’s full of retro homages but the gameplay is too basic if you are old enough to appreciate those easter eggs; conversely, it’s aesthetics and narrative are probably catchy for little kids but the game may be too hard for them. I don’t know, it feels like when they put “adult jokes” in dumb animated movies so the parents can have fun too. Anyway, I did like how they rearranged Atari classics to create a hacking minigame that feels varied and fresh until the end. And I kinda regret not having played it with my daughter: she would have struggled with the action but she would have loved the teen anime vibe.
