Just started Captain Toad on Switch. Was a long time I played on my switch. I really need a Nintendo fix.

Short and sweet. Short and sweet. A cute little game in which you play as Toad the Mushroom Guy as he walks about a small 3D diorama, and you need to rotate the camera to find all the little nooks and crannies hidden in plain sight. Basically a companion piece to Mario 3D World, as a lot of the same gimmicks, enemies, and level themes make their way into this. A light and breezy game to play through, but there are plenty of collectibles to go for if you want to extend your play time a bit more. It kinda gets monotonous after a while, so I recommend just playing a few levels here and there instead of binging it.

My main complaint for this one is probably the times when you have to turn a wheel to rotate stuff, and the wheel fills up the entire screen for some bizarre reason. Toad the Mushroom Guy is getting attacked by stuff, and I can't see anything! Oh, and the music drove me a bit crazy after a while, which seems a recurring theme for Mario-adjacent games of the past decade-ish.

You know I'm sure if I stopped trying to play this at like 3 AM with barely any sleep it would be easier. But I like CHALLENGES and also destroying forever my sleep schedule please help.

This game has a gift for being very, very fun and making me feel very, very dumb, at the exact same time.

So I'm in the middle of this obnoxiously charming game... ONE QUESTION! The reason Captain Toad cannot jump (which leads to all the core gameplay challenges) is that his backpack is just too heavy. Same with Toadette apparently. Fair enough. Does the game ever explain what he has in his backpack?

It might just be me, but boy... I have a heck of a time with the camera on this. I feel like I spend far too much time thinking about the camera rather than just playing the level. Which is fine I guess? But not for me. Have played it off and on since it came out and I think …

It might just be me, but boy... I have a heck of a time with the camera on this. I feel like I spend far too much time thinking about the camera rather than just playing the level. Which is fine I guess? But not for me. Have played it off and on since it came out and I think I'm ready to officially move it to the "didn't complete" pile.

I wonder if it is worth trading the Wii U version in for the Switch version.
