Better than the first one overall
This review is for the Nintendo GameCube version

The mechanics for fighting are much better and more fluid than the first one. Lots of character to unlock. I really like how they changed the way you can buy attacks now.

The story mode is... Interesting. It feels like I'm playing a boardgame in a fighting game. It is for sure different than the first Budokai but I don't know. I think I would have prefered story mode with cutscenes. This is what keeps me from giving 5 stars because other than that, the game is fantastic. I loved trying every fighter I unlocked through time.

I'm okay with being wrong.

These anime fighters are all pretty bad, let's be real (at least mechanically).

This however, is my favorite Budokai game and I WILL die on that hill. I love that stupid board game-like story mode and this is the only DBZ game ever with Gokule & Tiencha. Don't @ me.
