Perfectly serviceable survive-'em-up
It doesn't bring anything new to the table, but it's still fun enough to scratch that survival-game itch. It reminds me a lot of a 2d Valheim in some ways, with a similar loop of "explore island, do all the things you can with the stuff there, then find a new higher-tier island and repeat" gameplay loop.
Pros:
- charming graphics …

It reminds me a lot of a 2d Valheim in some ways, with a similar loop of "explore island, do all the things you can with the stuff there, then find a new higher-tier island and repeat" gameplay loop.
Pros:
- charming graphics
- an okay soundtrack
- a technology progression tree, giving you goals to work towards
- monkey pals who assist you with tasks
Cons:
- EXTREMELY grindy, tedious crafting
- multiplayer is kind of buggy as far as earning progress, if you aren't the host
- inventory size is too small
- exploration does not feel rewarding; progression is strictly linear
- combat isn't the greatest; feels unresponsive and kludgy
