In light of a few recent comments, I realized that I love fishing minigames for the most part, and this game's is one of my favorites. I'd thought I'd ask once and for all where people stand on the matter.

Playing this for the first time rn and have to say, I love the rpg maker style and music, always gives me nostalgic thrills plus it's super relaxing.
Will be my go to game to listen audiobooks to lol

*update: It's interesting to think about why Stardew Valley actually is good. On paper it sounded horrible to me, but now I love it. I think one not to underrate strength of it is the overall sounddesign. Not only the music, but also the sounds are very satisfying and indicate toward the reward for the work you've done.
The gampleay is satisfying and smooth. You're working, but it's fun. The tasks are streamlined in a way that you never feel annoyed, which is absolutely essential in such a grindy game. This may seem trivial, but just for instance having to cook your meal before eating would be terrible.

Just wanted to show some love to ConceredApe, who made this masterpiece and still continues to support it five years after its release. A one-off price tag of $15, which seems like a steal, considering the hundreds of hours of high-quality content this game offers. No paid DLC, no micro-transactions, and some of the updates offer more content than many so-called expansion packs and season passes do. Sometimes I think we don't deserve this dude.

I have been neglecting my home as of late, despite the anticipation of the birth of my son. I have forgotten his name in my absence. Has the cat been watered? The abandonment of my farm, my homestead, my wife... My child lingers in digital amniotic purgatory, forever waiting nativity. My wealth is meaningless and the labyrinthian stretches of cave …

The abandonment of my farm, my homestead, my wife... My child lingers in digital amniotic purgatory, forever waiting nativity. My wealth is meaningless and the labyrinthian stretches of cave are endless. It all seems so pointless. To come back is to finish; to linger is to prolong forever, when joy was paramount. Your attempt to kickflip is futile, as is the yield of my crops. Where else do I go but down. Perhaps I shall return in time, if this indifference perchance mutates into something anew. Farewell.

I realized that because I overplayed Stardew, now most of the time I play (give or take a rare occasion) is only when there's a major update released. But at least I can take comfort in knowing that routine exists, and honestly, as an autistic person, it's nice to have that to look forward to. I did miss the repetition …

I did miss the repetition the game provides, so today has been nice to appreciate it once again.

Been playing a lot this weekend, switching between games because none of what I have exactly fit I am craving for. Wanted a farm sim game so finally gave this a proper run, and this is... difficult. Wanted a farm sim game so finally gave this a proper run, and this is... difficult. I like how it looks but, also because of how it looks, I am having trouble distinguishing the townsfolk from each other. There also seem to be a lot going on, and I am not even sure I am doing things correctly. I hate fishing. I wish my character can walk/run faster. I'm trying hard to like this game but so far it just makes me wish that there is a Story of Seasons game in the Switch that enthrals me.

Stardew Valley is one of the best farming games I've played. It has a fantastic mix of farming simulation, exploration and relationship management. Other than that, this is an incredible, especially as it was developed by one man.
If you enjoy farming games, then I highly recommend you play Stardew Valley.

I've been making some serious progress with Stardew Valley. I now have sixteen of the forty one trophies available. I still don't think I'm going to platinum this game though, as I hate Journey of the Prairie King. Aside from that min-game, I'm loving Stardew Valley!
