Loved the game but now kinda bored.

LOVE this game. Played the heck out of it. I didn’t really do the storyline so much until the end and am still finding some Easter eggs but now I’m kinda bored with it. I have started over with different types of towns but then it’s just same old all over again so kinda bored with it now.

There's a reason everyone loves this game

Everyone I know who's played this game has had nothing but good things to say about it. I myself am a massive fan - I have spent hours playing, and it's so charming and full of depth that I had started over a couple of years later in multiplayer with my sister.

It's essentially like Harvest Moon for adults (due to some heavy themes brought out in certain character stories). The game mechanics are great - standard farm simulation with a little bit of sword-swinging in the 'dungeons'. You have the option to romance characters or simply improve relationships between all of the village NPCs, unlocking their rich backstories and/or character arcs brought on by their relationship with your avatar.

There's plenty to still accomplish once you have finished the main storyline. The creator eventually added further updates to the game because it was so popular.

I will say that I played this on PC and that my friend who got this on the Switch did not care for the gameplay as much. I haven't played it on the Switch myself so I don't have any particular opinion about this in terms of platform, but I'm putting it out there in case anyone is on the fence about which platform to play this on.

As of writing this, the creator is working on another game, and I can't wait to see what they do.

Why everyone should play Stardew Valley

This game is absolutely wonderful. It make your heart feel full as a player. Building relationships and bring a town back to its glory. The actual best part about this game is how it incorporates real life issues in a way that is easy to digest while not losing its value. I cannot recommend this game enough.

Stardew Valley is an extremely relaxing and fun game. The variety of activities to perform keeps the player glued to the screen and turns this into one of the most addictive games of the last years. It deserves to be played by anyone with access to it.

Okay, I just saw the huge new update... do I start the whole game over and deal with what a struggle everything is in the beginning... or do I go back to my save file where I'm totally lost about everything and just... try to figure it out... :P

Before I played this game, I thought the idea sounded so boring and monotonous... I was wrong. This game takes a boring subject like farming, and turns it into a super fun game that I would suggest everyone on earth play. The story doesn't have any replayability whatsoever. But the Game play is good enough that it will make you want to come back over and over and over and over and over (I put so many overs because its just that good). I would seriously recommend this game to anyone of any ages whatsoever, its relaxing, gorgeous, and just a nice breath of fresh air compared to some of the more harsh games.

It's Harvest Moon!

If you played Harvest Moon, then you know what's this game all about. The art isn't appealing enough to me to get me hooked. I rather play Rune Factory because of it's fantasy theme and attractive character's art. Don't get me wrong though, the game is good and fun to play just like Harvest Moon.

Nothing absorbed me more wholly in body, mind and spirit as this game. Seriously, it was both a fantastic investment and frightening addiction. One might think this game is simply a tool designed to suck time, however there is meaning and purpose behind your journey through this game. I believed in myself and I worked hard to create a stable family unit with Abigail by replicating amethysts in my crystalarium EVERY SINGLE DAY. She never caught on to my insessant partying and drunken orgies with Pam. She never even complained as I rejected her pleas for a child week after week , instead spending my freetime eyefucking Haylee by the community center. 5 stars.

Warning. This game, tho simple, can be very addicting. Best be played on holidays, or if you're an out of school youth. This game will take away your youth. Lolz.

Harvest Moon for PC

You can think of Stardew Valley combining Harvest Moon Rune Factory Animal Crossing and Terraria. This kind of game was missing in PC, the Harvest Moon that I love in my consoles, but better. Cultivate, improve things, marry, have children, kill monsters or mine. There are many things to do, so I think it's worth every cent.

When a sports injury messed up my jock routine, I was pretty lost for a while. My superbusy agenda just cleared overnight, I couldn't do any of my usual stuff. Talk about a rough patch, I really didn't know what to do with myself. But then my man suggested I try Stardew Valley, a Harvest Moon clone that had just come out on Steam.

And boy, was that addictive! For about three weeks, it was all I could think of and all I could look forward to. Exactly the level of distraction I needed to not beat myself up about my injured shoulder. It felt lovely to build something and be drawn into another world.

I think I have about 50 hours clocked into the game. I’m getting a little bored with it now. In the meantime, my shoulder is recovering and I need to start planning how I will build up my old routines again. But Stardew Valley got me through. Thank you, gaming! <3 <3 <3
