I can’t believe I didn’t meet Alfira in the Druid camp during my first playthrough. Which also means I missed her performance 😥

I love discovering things I missed when replaying a game.

This probably applies to a very small set of people but a heads up anyone planning to cross-play, Larian only saves your last five game saves in their cloud. So if you want to access a specific save that’s older than the last five save instances, you need to load it on the original device and re-save, thus pushing out a new save to the Larian servers. It also means that, if you’re like me, and you’re playing multiple characters you might need to refresh you latest save for one character if you’ve been playing another character for a bit.

Just encountered the rarest of videogame rarities, an interesting and fun escort mission! Tense, mercifully brief, and required careful use of the game's many movement options to succeed, easily one of my favorite encounters in Act 3.

Only 1.6% of players have gone on a date with Karlach? WTF is wrong with you people?

Maybe it’s just me but hot-fix #5 seems to have done wonders for the game in Act III on Steam Deck. the frame-rate no longer seems to be taking the hit it was in the city only a day ago.

A heads up to BG3 players who are interested in casual multiplayer sessions but might not have IRL friends to play with, I have put together a thread in the forums for BG3 multiplayer planning. A heads up to BG3 players who are interested in casual multiplayer sessions but might not have IRL friends to play with, I have put together a thread in the forums for BG3 multiplayer planning. This is just to get the ball rolling, so no set timeline on planning yet. I'm looking to gauge people's interest in casual sessions and if we can gather enough people to make it work. Feel free to join the conversation if you're interested.

I'm not finding Act 3 to be as buggy and broken as I've seen reported elsewhere, so maybe the patches have sanded off the rough edges, but I will say it's a bit of a bummer how most quests in the Act resolve with an unavoidable fight.

I'm not finding Act 3 to be as buggy and broken as I've seen reported elsewhere, so maybe the patches have sanded off the rough edges, but I will say it's a bit of a bummer how most quests in the Act resolve with an unavoidable fight.

Combat is a toothless bore at this point, and the huge enemy counts and frequent use of enemy invincibility just drag out each encounter without adding any depth or challenge. Feels like Acts 1 and 2 were better about letting you bypass combat with skill checks or exploration.

I'm planning to get a haircut on Friday and am considering showing my stylist a pic of Shadowheart for what I want.

Send help.

Been saving Raphael's Act 3 quest for last as it seemed pretty juicy, and it definitely doesn't disappoint! Fun atmosphere and the voice actor for Hope is absolutely killing it.

Do we even need new games anymore? Larian did it folks, they made the forever game. Play this and you’ll never need anything else again. And if you’re not playing it, it’s time to ask yourself “why?” I don’t need to know your reasons, they are between you and the cosmos.

Soooo, I started my Bard run. Nope, I’m not done my Druid run, but I did read that a certain epilogue will be part of the second patch, and I’ve decided not to finish my first run until that patch drops. Soooo, I started my Bard run. Nope, I’m not done my Druid run, but I did read that a certain epilogue will be part of the second patch, and I’ve decided not to finish my first run until that patch drops. I’m still playing through my Druid run, but taking breaks to play as my Bard just to slow things down a bit.

Two main things I’ve observed: 1) Bard is fantastic to play from a story perspective, what with all the ridiculous Charisma, plus the Jack of all trades bonus; 2) combat is much easier this time around, simply because I know what to expect, which also means I’m being creative instead of straightforward.

I also killed Commander Zhalk on the Nautilus this time around, which means Lae’zel has a very nice broadsword right from the start. I know I’ll replace it in time, but it’s a good starter.

An interesting twist, because I’ve decided to keep Lae’zel in my party with Shadowheart during this run, is that making one happy has the inverse effect on the other. This means that my decisions invariably raise my status with one and lower it with the other. So I’ve begun to send one back to camp before pivotal choices just to keep them both happy. Seems fitting for a Bard who happens to be a bit manipulative when they can’t be persuasive.

Really appreciate that BG3 consistently gives you the option to keep quiet and let your companions choose for themselves when they're having their big character-defining moments. Always feels silly in RPGs when party members are making the most important decisions of their lives and they defer utterly to your judgement.

Reclassed Shadowheart again, from a Life Cleric to a Light Cleric, and frankly the latter is just better. Potions are so strong in this game that there isn't really a need for a dedicated healer.

Act 3 quests have been a mixed bag, but the hag support group and meeting Jaheira's family were both aces.
