Well WTF, there is no physical version for this game. Even the Collector's Edition comes with a digital code, so it's basically a box full of kitsch for $300. I thought there would be a PS5 physical edition, at the very least, but no dice.

The Xbox Series S Is Holding Xbox Back

This poses an important question: will Microsoft eventually have to compromise Series S games? Will it choose to remove certain gameplay elements or even skip the less powerful console altogether? I don’t think it’s feasible, considering the uproar that would certainly follow. Considering the Series S has been marketed as having all the same games as the Series X, to pull the rug out from under them now would be unethical. But as a whole, Xbox players will suffer if more multiplatform games get delayed because of the less powerful console. In fact, games might start moving towards Sony’s open arms if they predict they’ll have a problem porting their games to the Series S. That might be the worst possible outcome for Microsoft, considering it’s already beefing with PlayStation over console exclusives. We can only wait and see how Microsoft works its way out of this position, if it even can.

I really liked my Series S. Great form factor, nice little console. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little worried about it getting left behind even during the first year of owning it as I saw it missing out on frame boosts that the Series X was benefiting from. I do wonder if Microsoft has created a minor problem for themselves and if there’s a way out or forward.

We're some months away from BG3's full release and I can't find it in me to be fully happy with it: the animations are uncanny, the characters have exaggerated wrinkles, there's no way to fully customize your character's face shape. On top of that, there's major flaws such as:

  • Weird interactions with the hotkeys: if you're using the left button to move around, it can coincidentally also move on a box because you're trying to scroll through the map and if the container is marked as owned, you get reprimanded 9 out of 10 times.
  • Sometimes NPCs can straight see you through doors or will trigger even when not looking at you or in their cone of vision.
  • Autosaves still require you to fully stop the entire game for more than a few seconds at any given time.
  • Pathing is super awkward: sometimes your character will throw itself off a cliff they just climbed on, simply because you clicked on too forward so heir pathing tells them to either re-climb or go down and nowhere because there's no other place to go, making you take unnecessary damage.
  • The game still runs poorly optimized and if your MP game closes, chances are your whole game will crash along with it and cause a severe slowdown.
  • Sometimes you have to be PINPOINT precise in clicking an enemy, or you'll miss.

I am hoping for a miracle.

I thought it would fix itself after I got off the nautiloid but it has remained the same ever since, even when I exited and restarted the game the problem remained, guess that's early access for you.
