Well this explains a lot. Larian had previously stated they would announce the release date of the Xbox port at TGA, yet there was no announcement. It seems Keighley was so eager to kick devs off the stage, Larian couldn’t even do Keighley’s favourite thing, market their game.

Then we have the folks at Larian, who may not have been directly cut off, but were definitely hurried despite accepting the Game of the Year award for Baldur's Gate 3. Not only was creative director Swen Vincke told to "wrap it up" by a teleprompter when he was dedicating the award to a colleague who had passed away, but they also didn't have time to announce the Xbox release of Baldur's Gate 3 like they had originally planned.

Me 10 hours into the game: 'I love my half-elf, high elf, warlock, wizard and warrior friends so much.'

Very cool game. I have always wanted to play a DnD game with friends, but that hasn't happened yet... So I guess this is the closest I will get to living my Critical Role adventure. Although, I think that failing rolls with a computer isn't as fun as failing them with friends around... Also, the temptation for save scumming is strong, hard to resist.

Anyway, my 2023 GOTY (its the only 2023 I have played thus far, and I guess I'll be stuck with it for a while)

Over the Baldur’s Gate 3 weekend ~158k playthroughs were started in Honour mode, over 34,000 players died in Honour mode and 464 parties have already completed the game in Honour Mode.

I’m going to go for it. I’m going to wait until I’m on my holiday break, but I have to do it. I’m dying to witness the legendary actions that enemies are now equipped with first hand.

Dang is it just me or is act 3 really dense with things to explore and do? And I imagine it would be more dense if I had certain people still around or had recruited different people than I did, and had their quests too.

I dislike inventory management so much. I hate it in every game. I hate how my momentum through the story can just freeze because I have to stop to drag icons around and figure out what’s safe to sell and rearrange my party around so I can make sure everyone has the best gear.

I would love to have an AI assistant that just handles my bags and gear for me, in games like this that have a lot of gear.

One of my friends convinced me to buy this to do multiplayer because no one else she knows plays on PS5. So I guess I'm going to play it sooner than I thought. Might have to do a single player run at the same time for the romance and evil.

Also the Dark Urge epilogue is brilliant Now this specific epilogue requires that you become the slayer by killing Orin in one-on-one combat, and then to subsequently reject your father Bhaal at the final decision of the game. If you refect Bhaal prior to this, you'll receive a much nicer epilogue. The resulting epilogue is bleak and twisted. And the perfect ending to my run!

Honour Mode disallows save scumming and retools bosses to be both harder and have new surprising abilities. Honour Mode disallows save scumming and retools bosses to be both harder and have new surprising abilities. Custom mode allows you to tweak various elements, like hiding the results of rolls to removing skill checks for certain moments altogether.
