When Rust was peak RUST, it was not at all rusty actually, rather quite good. We have hundreds of hours in this on PC and a few years ago it was really well balanced and packed with stuff to do. You have to overcome the griefing and the shit talking and the murdering of your character even as a naked on the beach with a single rock. There's modded servers to play more casual on that gives more loot and resources while farming and going on quest with your squad for those elusive key cards or heavier weaponry that everyone on the server is after. Building a base and also raiding other bases is amazing and so much fun with a group of good mates, and I really miss the open fields and cold peaks of RUST every now and then..even if I know that I can catch a crossbow to the neck at any second..even as a naked on the beach..

I'm not like most people who play this game. When I play this game I don't immediately grind for resources, and build a 1x1 stone base with an airlock, and plot who I'm gonna raid.

I am much simpler. When I play Rust I roam around trying to interact with other players, picking up scraps I find, and building a cozy wooden 2x1, finding "adventure" on the way. I am sure that if I played this seriously, trying to get as strong as possible immediately, challenging airdrops, raiding people, etc, that I wouldn't find it fun, because of how punishing this game is. You could make a whole days worth of progress, and get offline raided the moment you go to sleep. Playing this game seriously is like having a job, and I genuinely don't understand how people do it. And that's even WITHOUT the fact that if there's a single hacker in your server they can immediately ruin everything you've worked on.
If you want to play this game I truly believe you should go in with a "Chill and Have Fun" mindset, and if that's the case, you'll have a pretty good time. ESPECIALLY with friends.

The only aim in Rust is to survive? lol no.
The only aim in Rust is to farm blueprints so you can AT LEAST have a chance against hackers or people that are already running AKs. There's literally no point in playing unless you enjoy grinding items to grind more items. Don't even get me started on the PvP or …

The only aim in Rust is to farm blueprints so you can AT LEAST have a chance against hackers or people that are already running AKs. There's literally no point in playing unless you enjoy grinding items to grind more items. Don't even get me started on the PvP or the community, they're terrible. As I just stated, you also have to deal with the hacking problem. Spent 2 hours building a base? Hacker comes in and poof. Gone.
Waste of time.
