Echo Point Nova got a new expansion recently called Under the Clouds. It's cool. Feels more sandboxy than the base game. I prefer the base game because of the level design being a bunch of islands rather than an open world as seen here. I'm more fond of the negative space because getting around islands felt more like a challenge rather than surfing around the world. Even if the world in Under the Clouds comes with a day and night cycle. The biggest mechanical addition this expansion offers is water. Surf on the water to gain much more speed than on land, freeze the water to gain even more speed, underwater fighting, exploration. Fun stuff. My favorite thing about the expansion outside of being able to play more Echo Point Nova is the developer commentary shown in each point of interest. It's fun to read about what choices developers make to make the games we love, what influenced them to make decisions whether it's fan feedback or other games that inspired them. It's more Echo Point Nova. If you love Echo Point Nova like I do, this will still satisfy you.

Today, I learned that you can grapple onto a rocket that you shot and fly with it as far as possible. Further solidifying the fact that this is one of the coolest FPS games ever made.
