Nothing could be more fun than being an evil sea god and terrorising little villagers with your hordes of abominations.

This is the 2nd big game from Y/CJ/Y, the dev who made Aquatic Adventure of the Last Human (a really good difficult aquatic metroidvania thing). In their new game, you play as Dagon, the old one, and you control your horde of minions as you terrorise the locals and tear them to bits. Was reminiscent of Cannon Fodder or Lemmings at times, with all these hundreds of little gory things on screen. You move through the game and face various situations, bosses, obstacles. Works really well with controller, the gameplay is totally addictive, would be a perfect game for the Switch.

This game is really fun. Loads of content; each playthrough is different, many playstyles and monsters, alternate paths through the game, many different modes/modifiers, arena mode, hard mode. Sometimes it feels like a puzzle game, a strategy game, though it does its own thing. The arena mode is almost a different game in itself with rogue-like randomised elements to level generation and monster spawns.

This game isn't a gimmick. One must carefully choose one's creatures depending on the situation and the enemies you're up against. It can be very challenging at times and requires much thought, preparation and strategy. Dozens of creatures to summon and control each with their own unique powers and weaknesses.

The pixel art is spooky and gorgeous, the eerie music fits perfectly with the Lovecraft theme. The game's soundtrack was created by Karl Flodin who also did the soundtrack for Aquatic Adventure, and I love this guy's work, will definitely grab the soundtrack when it is released. Story is both silly and macabre. Great game! Looking forward to trying out hard mode. Might be the most beautiful game I've played this year, apart from Blasphemous.
Hey @torgo this looks pretty cool! Control a Dagon cult action bump and jump. :)
