Played this with Nintendo's game trials, and I had fun. I liked the presentation - reminds me of the anime powerpuff girls, only this one is more chaotic, and that was enjoyable. I died a lot though. Struggled a bit with aligning myself with enemies when I battle and with the limited (and weak?) moveset but I only managed to play for a while and I didn't get very far so perhaps my character could have gotten stronger when I get access to dojos or whatnot. Would revisit again if ever.

Also rewatched the Sailor Moon Eternal movies recently, and I need more games in this area.

Finished one day before the Switch free trial ends!

It's not the best beat 'em up, but my wife and I had a lot of fun with it. Just simple co-op fun, with lots of laughs and screaming at the bosses.

Playing it with my wife now that is free on Nintendo Switch.

It has the same problems other WayForward games have (gameplay is really generic), but we're having lots of fun.

Let's see if we can finish it before the free test is over.

So not even half a day since I made the last review.

I have one word/name to say; Abobo.

And that his cyclone attack is very fair and fun to play against.

edit: I ended up grinding for more cash and got a bunch of milk so I can heal when I get low. I also used dab a lot …

Abobo is a likable character, but a poorly designed boss. it isn't even that he is hard. it is that he is unfun to play against due to his BS moves. Again I can't say too much for beat em ups, but I don't think this guy is healthy for this genre.

there are however, a few minor annoyances, nothing game killing, but one complaint I have is with the items. The consumables, considering how much they cost, and how much cash the enemy drops, are IMO too weak.

I currently also have mixed feelings on the blocking mechanic. I'm not sure if it is clunky or I'm just bad at using it. For now, I will not list it as a con.

I have never played a beat em up before, so I can't say too much about the combat, although it is fairly simple, so for casual play, it is great. However, players who like developing mechanical skills may also like the DOJO to get more combos.

The art is really good, and the music is awesome. The animated cutscenes are amazing too. However, the story is kind of corny. The voice acting was kind of average, although some people might find it unbearable.

I'm having fun so far, but I'm not too far into the game, so I'll add on later.

Wayforward really does deliver in the art design, but for an Arc System Works game I thought the combat would be slightly more enjoyable. It’s not terrible but it’s also not particularly special. And the voice acting really does get irritating.

Received my copy yesterday. The foil case insert is a nice touch, as is the foil card. Does anyone know if the Best Buy variant of the case insert is also foil?

Just finished my first playthrough as Misako...

If we never get a proper port of the X360/PS3 Scott Pilgrim VS The World The Game, then this will do as a fantastic replacement. It might even be a better beat-em-up than that was. The soundtrack is amazing, the gameplay is addictive, the writing is hilarious, and the art is beautiful.

This might be one of my favorites of the year so far.

P.S./Ninja Edit: This is one of the first times I've any%'d a game and felt the urge to go back and 100% it...
