Just scored big with this title on Switch with my Gamer's Club Unlocked + $15 in rewards - dropped the price from $50 to $25 and got 2 day free shipping. Original intention was to have something different for the flight next week.

One of the things about rhythm games on the Switch is that a lot of them focus on the touch screen, which is very hard to use unless you lay the thing down and have ample room. This has also been the case with MUSYNX which felt pretty nice to play with touch controls, but I had to slide the joycons off the rails so that I could hold it properly on a bus, and play with my thumbs. This is not ideal for several reasons.

Typically I prefer playing with buttons, a-la Hatsune Miku Project Diva on the Vita, to date I have not found a more responsive rhythm game. That being said, I'm not a fan of playing on a wireless controller, because the micro-seconds you lose due to video and input lag actually makes a huge difference with the note timing scores.

So far, these have not been issues for me in Cytus as I've played solely in handheld mode. The music has been really cool so far and I dig the whole aesthetic. I will say, jumping from Easy to Hard mode on a song that I got a perfect score on is totally insane. The rate at which the notes appear requires zen-like levels of focus. A medium mode would have been nice, though this seems to use a similar style and engine to the aforementioned MUSYNX where there are only Easy and Hard modes.

Unfortunately, Easy is a cakewalk and Hard is a rollercoaster.

I will keep hammering on my Switch and trying to improve, though! Overall, happy with this purchase so far.
