Shatter is a game from 2009 that back then seemed intriguing but I didn’t play. I found the Remastered Deluxe edition on Netflix and decided to play it. It’s a fun reinterpretation of Breakout: very dynamic, with a good rhythm and a fun soundtrack, that makes a good use of power-ups, abilities and bosses to reinvent the genre. Of course, it being on smartphone, you have to play with the virtual joystick, which I never liked, because I’m old. But it works fine. Let’s say that if it wasn’t on Netflix and I had to buy it, I would have bought it on PC. But considering it’s a game from 14 years ago that I barely remembered, plus I just noticed I have the original version on Steam and I never touched it, I would say that “I had to buy it” wasn’t an option, so...
I really liked Shatter. If you've ever liked Arkanoid/Breakout-style games you'll love this! Its action packed, with good graphics and music. You get special powers, most prominently you have a magnetic field that can either detract or attract objects as you wish. That and powers that change ball characteristics really spices up the old and tried formula. There are also lots of fun boss battles. A solid little 5 star game!
