The life cycle is self-explanatory: sign up for a case, travel between locations questioning witnesses, obtain warrants, and make arrests, and you have approximately a week to do so. The options you can do in each location are the same: you can question witnesses, look up evidence reports, or contact Crime Net to receive additional information about the suspect such as features, hair and eye color, auto, and sport. If you're lucky, you can contact other informants like Bart Samson and Vinnie the Squealer. Read less

Neat Little Game

Preliminary: Oooo I just read that this includes Smithsonian Folkways recordings!

Preliminary: Oooo I just read that this includes Smithsonian Folkways recordings!

I didn't notice any as I played through 2 cases (won both in court weee). I think some of the facts would've been annoying as a kid, especially the ones between cases, but I still always enjoyed the Carmen Sandiego games in general, esp the USA one cuz I often knew the facts more often as a kid. As the lover of random world facts I am as an adult, this was definitely doable and fun. I wouldn't play it for more than an hour or so but still really neat. And great-Looking for 92. Lots of nice touches with the UI and technology you use. Again, only complaint is the esoteric facts and whatnot that I can't imagine kids loving to know.

Look: 8/10

Sound: 8/10 Would've been higher if I had heard some of those Folkways songs??

Play: 7.5/10 Well-done

Feel: 8/10 An important series for me, and this one had the full Feel with the Look and gameplay and all reminding me of the mid-90s USA one I played a lot.

Attachment: 7.5/10 I most likely would replay the USA one or if I fall in love with the other Deluxe/later versions of some of them, but this one was really impressive and I did 2 full cases which says a lot.

Overall: 7.8/10
