I love Tetris 99. I play it all the time. In fact, it might be my most played Switch game of all. However, I just don't get this game. It has good intentions, and the potential brims, but it falls short with repetitive gameplay that gets boring after a while. I was so sick of 1-1 and 1-2 that I had to stop. Super Mario Bros. is a classic and I think next time I have an itch to scratch with it, I'll just load it up on my Switch and play.
I really like this game, but I can also see its flaws, such as the repetitiveness of the first levels. I'm not sure how to actually unlock more, but even in my small pool of 6 available stages, I always get 1-1 and 1-2.
I like it, though, and could see me playing it for long if my online subscription wasn't due to expire tomorrow.
Have pretty mixed feelings about this so far. It's pretty solid fun up until there's just the last 5 of you -- when it should feel the most intense, it actually gets really dull because it takes forever for anyone to die. Easy to get a few minutes without any extra enemies being thrown your way.
Ya-hoooo! This title is an absolute blast. Totally worth $20 for the online subscription if you don't already have it (although worth mentioning it is stupidly only available to play until the end of March...).
Chunks of bite-size entertainment filled with slot-machine-tier flashing lights and general overstimulating chaos makes Super Mario Bros. 35 extremely addicting, and I find myself constantly saying "just one more round", until I realize and hour has already passed.
I grabbed this off the Japanese eShop last night so I could play it before NA release, and ended up burning 2 hours playing it.
Side tips: I typically target Random to start, then switch to Lowest Time to knock out the slackers a few seconds in, then switch between Highest Coins and Attackers (if 2 or more people are attacking me). The trick is to take your time (NOT speedrun!), and take out as many enemies as possible, making sure each kill gets sent to as many people as possible. This buys you more time and also floods your targeted player(s) with more work.
That being said, it's worth pointing out that targeting "Attackers" is the only targeting that can send enemies to 2 or more …

That being said, it's worth pointing out that targeting "Attackers" is the only targeting that can send enemies to 2 or more players. If you see multiple red lines and Warning signs, switch to "Attackers" so you throw enemies back towards people attacking you.
