As a big fan of Silent Hill, this thing is an insult to me.
Spoilers ahead, but go read it, so you don't have to play it.
"Free game no bitchin" doesn't apply to this thing, because they slapped Silent Hill's name on it.
This is nothing else, but a woke Gen Z bullshit disguised as a popular horror game.
The main character is so horribly written, I actually laughed out loud multiple times. Her personality is depression, that's it, it's also shown just awfully. The story is about a girl with zero (ZERO) personality, who's jealous of her talented friend.
The game was interesting till the point, when the MC checked her social media just after being chased by a monster in a creepy abandoned building. Yeah, couldn't think of a better timing to do it. She was unhappy, that she doesn't have any followers. All she posts are bland pictures of herself, not even a smile there to see. Worth to add, that everyone want to undress her, there is literally a comment "sexy pictures already" lmao. The girl decides to kill herself, because that might actually help her gain some followers. That's it, that's the plot. A story about a girl with zero personality and interests, that want to be an influencer, tragic. The fact, that she keeps checking her socials at the worst possible times, is a cherry on top. It honestly feels like a story about modern internet written by 80 years olds. Oh, I almost forgot (I'm actually editing it in, right now), the main character keeps her hair stuck under her glasses, it looks comically weird in game.
The game looks absolutely stunning, tho. Too bad it worked in like 15 fps, constantly. But yeah, visuals are indeed very impressive to say the least, very immersive, too. The chase sequences were very climatic, except performance it's actually a quality product, when it comes to gameplay, it's that awful writing that ruined everything.
I actually recommend checking it out, purely for the lulz. A pinnacle of bad writing.
This has barely anything to do with Silent Hill, the name is there to market it. This is a teaser to Silent Hill F, the game that caught my attention, and I wanted it to be good. After playing The Short Message, I couldn't care less about SH:F, this will most likely be an awful horror game, that wouldn't sell without the popular franchise branding, you can cancel it already. So yeah, a huge insult to SH, but this name barely means anything these days... and after this commercial stunt, the franchise is heading to the grave once again, this time for good, a tragedy. I hope I'm wrong tho, SH2 Remake is the last resort.
