This is a backstory to the events of The House in Fata Morgana which are told there but as a wall of text. Here that "wall of text" is the main dish with more details. First game was more twisted and mysterious whereas this one is more straightforward. You get some new characters, so while you know how it’s all going to end, you still get some new twists, and ofc you understand more of the old cast. It’s good, tragic yessss, in moments it was a little bit annoying cause you are reading the same story but I’d say its worth it. It’s a different perspective, with the story you already know but even parts with just a few new sentences hit hard so that makes it worth it.

You haven't played the first Fata Morgana? Stop! Hold on! Don't play this. Get out of here! Okay, are they gone? It's just us now, those who played the first game? Whew. Well, you'll certainly enjoy this game if you enjoyed the first. The main story is kind of unnecessary, but I understand why the developers indulged in this prequel. It's certainly interesting, but I got the most out of the three side stories. They are much shorter than the main game, but all three are excellent. Here's to more games with messy characters! Consider picking up the Dreams of the Revenant edition on consoles if you haven't played the series at all.

EDIT: I just found the final section of the story. I take back anything negative I said! UGH. 5 out of 5.
