Unlike most Barbie games, this game is a standard platform game rather than a simulation of the life of a female fashion model. Barbie must find an outfit for her date with Ken. The environment features a shopping mall level, an underwater level, and other worlds to explore. The game is also centered around collecting gems and pearls to fend off opponents. Enemies in the game include the usual sharks found in underwater levels in addition to jellyfish. Moving cubes of sugar must also be defeated in the game. Incredibly Flawed, Yet I Still Played Almost All Of It Smh
This review is for the Game Boy version

Preliminary: The jump feels like it's in slow motion and the level designs are incredibly dull. And it's hard to tell sometimes what can be jumped on vs what is in background etc. Yet the Look is great, the settings of the levels has been great so far too, the music grew on me though still not great, and despite its flaws, here I am on level 3. I also can't help but admit the jump has some good mid-jump controls despite its odd slowness.

Day 1

I hate it when games delete your first projectile when you shoot a second one. And is there any logic to the different ways you throw the projectiles in different levels lol so hard and absurd to aim it. This really deserves a 2 star and move on not sure what's going on with me in 92 where I keep giving out 3 stars. This tuen for what I think is the 4th level is nice (it's the 2nd mermaid/water level). I liked how fast I could go in the Mermaid water levels :-p

I'm such a child but I'm quite proud of how well I did on the Matching games :-p I …

I'm such a child but I'm quite proud of how well I did on the Matching games :-p I like that they carried over between levels.

The lack of a timer is nice

Lol did I just restore a King Crab and Queen Crab to their throne after they were jailed by a Jellyfish? It's all so illogical and technically bad, like that "boss" situation was just... well bad. But here I am... Probly going to play through this game lol.

I liked this (I believe final?) level's Look, always like a music theme to a level whether RPG or platformer :-p enter image description here

And neat that you jump on the revolving vinyls etc and your momentum is affected by their spin... tho that neat/complex idea makes the GB go wonky and blurry and flicker etc lol so it was just sloppy like the rest of the game. So many absurd glitches/bugs/issues, yet I still liked it enough. Standard 3 star for 92 I suppose, tho quite low on that scale heh. Helps it's based on a peculiar franchise and had a good Look and Sound that grew on me.

Oh wait that wasn't the last level but it's time to wrap up for the day. Hopefully I will finish it tomorrow otherwise it seems it'll just be a 3 star regardless :-p Too nice to give it a 2

Day 2

Wow either it's because it's a new day, or because the last level is just outright terrible, but what was I thinking yesterday lol. The last level is all about jumping so it highlights its weakest point, and the collision masks get soooo glitchy with these present boxes. Plus, I'm never a big fan of teleportation puzzles in platformers. Regardless, this last level really highlighted its faults and by all measures this deserves a 2 star cuz I dropped it here, but considering I played 6 of 7 stages, I guess I'm not that ridiculous for giving it 3 stars haha

Look: 8/10 One of the highlights for sure. I liked the different outfits, level settings, and GB nostalgia

Sound: 7.5/10

Play: 7/10 Seriously flawed, but a platformer soooo

Feel: 7/10

Attachment: 7/10

Overall: 7.3/10
