New Blood's newest bloody game, Gloomwood, just came out into early access a day early just to avoid Cyberpunk 2077 announcements. And it's really good.

The way the game communicates enemy vision and detection is sublime and makes for fair stealth play without giving you a mini map. The ring gives an indicator whether or not you can be detected and enemies have a glow to their eyes as if they're flashlights. Although you cannot reach the lighthouse yet, I love how it impacts the levels in general. It brings this dynamism and dare I say, immersion. I got detected because of such and it really made me be careful. It's got some pretty good level design, especially at the start with the fishery having only 2 save points, yet there are a bunch of shortcuts that weave you back to them.

I do have two gripes: I noticed that enemies can run through carriages even though the player can't. Enemies can shoot more than once, but when I kill them, their guns are now broken and now they have no bullets or one bullet left.

It is in very early access at the moment as there are 3 big levels and it took me 2.5 hours to beat so far. Like ULTRAKILL, Gloomwood is another New Blood early access game that I await with anticipation.
