maimegidola's review of The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle: Episode 1 - A Dreadly Business

A silly little adventure game. The cartoonish style makes it possible to ignore the grotesqueness of finding the missing body parts for a decapitated head.

This first episode is really short, though, fair warning. I'm the type who clicks on everything and will even backtrack to see if things change, and it still only took me an hour to finish. Actually, there's not even a whole lot of backtracking you can do. It's pretty railroad-y; after certain segments, you can't return to previous areas. But it does also mean it eases the frustration for people who struggle to find all the interactables and get lost easily.

Humor is pretty corny; avoid if you hate puns (e.g. "Alley-Gate-Oar" and no I will not provide further context). I still smiled at some jokes though. As it turns out, even Victorian era gentlemen couldn't avoid advance-fee scams and Viagra ads. No replayability which is typical for these types of games.

It was a nice way to spend an hour. (๑╹◡╹)
