I don't want to spam the main feed with so many statuses about an obscure and somewhat unsatisfying game, but man, this soundtrack is AMAZING.

It's too short.

This feels like a tech demo or an early access game. I feel that the fundamentals are there, but it lacks depth. The visuals are fantastic, the soundtrack is incredibly catchy, the controls are solid, but there's barely anything build on top of that.

Whereas the old SkyRoads consisted on more than 30 tracks in which you had to manage different aspects of the race such as resources and gravity, here you have a mere 10 levels which don't vary much in terms of complexity.

The VN is also quite shallow. There are some choices that affect some parts of the plot, but most of them are irrelevant. The obvious romantic relationship feels rushed and plot elements are picked up and discarded willy-nilly.

Now excuse me while I go buy the soundtrack.

Wait, what?!

"Nirvana Pilot Yume is the cure for your ‘80s sci-fi anime nostalgia: a retro-synthwave world with space races inspired by the DOS classic SkyRoads and a steamy visual novel of romance and redemption. Raise the volume and turn on the neon lights!"
