Super Mario 3D World is a 3D platformer action game for the Wii U, and a follow-up of the Nintendo 3DS installment Super Mario 3D Land. The game builds upon the previous installment, following a similar 3D level-design convention inspired from the 2D platformer titles where players must navigate through a linear-designed level within a time limit to reach a level's Goal Pole. One key aspect introduced in this title is the simultaneous multiplayer: while not the first game in the series to do so, it is the first 3D title in the Mario series to incorporate up to four players cooperating with each other to reach the goal. Players can select their character from a pool of playable characters prior to starting the game, and each of these characters have their own unique playstyle that gives them advantages and disadvantages over other characters. The game makes use of several Wii U exclusive features, such as tapping blocks with the touch screen on the GamePad and blowing into the mic to reveal hidden items and blow away enemies. Various new power-ups are introduced in this title, with the trademark suit being the Cat power-up, which enables characters to perform a melee attack, climb up walls, and leap while midair, as well as the game generally having a cat-based theme. With all the Wii U remasters coming to Switch, you’d think that Super Mario 3D World would be one of them. I’m still holding out hope that it’s coming, one day.

Made it halfway through Bowser world! have been trying to perfect every level.. have been pretty successful so far except for a few recent levels I got lazy with hehe. proud of myself though, i hardly ever 'perfect' mario games, though this one is pretty easy

Playing this again, both solo and co-op. Needless to say co-op has caused a few fights with the girlfriend...

Brilliant game and, perhaps, the best multiplayer platformer I've ever encountered. There are plenty of great games in that category but Super Mario 3D World one ups at least one aspect of them all. Nintendo truly knows how to equalize skill levels and make the same content fun for everyone. This game illustrates the fact that Nintendo designers are simply …

Brilliant game and, perhaps, the best multiplayer platformer I've ever encountered. There are plenty of great games in that category but Super Mario 3D World one ups at least one aspect of them all. Nintendo truly knows how to equalize skill levels and make the same content fun for everyone. This game illustrates the fact that Nintendo designers are simply some of the best in the world. The quality, attention to detail and sheer level of fun are unmatched. Speaking of which...

It amazes me that the Wii U did not do better. It is a phenomenal system, with a genius design. What other console has a game controller that lasts 80 hours? Every main series game is bursting with quality Nintendo still makes the one console that justifies the existence of consoles (especially as other consoles steadily become PCs).

Best platform game i've ever tried. Both gameplay, graphics and controls are perfect, and the first game ever that I need to complete 100

Wow. I forgot to update Grouvee that Heather and I beat Mario 3D World. It was definitely a challenging game at the end and I want to say it's wonderful, but that time limit silliness still leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. We are still playing though, working to find all the stars and stuff.
