Project Kat is described by its creators as a Horror-RPG, but I think it's more of an horror-adventure game. The game follows Kat, a high school girl intent on performing a specific occult ritual. You explore a limited map, find and use objects, solve some puzzles, and talk to characters.

The problem with Project Kat is that it feels too much like a demo - like a vertical slice of a game that shows off some cool bits, but is unable to stand on its own. The game includes a lot of hidden stuff that point towards a deeper lore. However, that is intended for an upcoming sequel, and this game suffers due to it. A lot of questions are raised, and none have really satisfying answers... yet. The brevity of the game - which can be completed in about 30-40 minutes - adds to this.

Keeping the demo perspective in mind, the game is interesting. The art style, atmosphere, sound, and the creep factor - these are all great. In summary, Project Kat is a promise of something good that's yet to come.

Too bad its only a short prologue. Definitely has potential. Gameplay wise its very similar to JRPG horror games in that you solve simple puzzles, and do objectives to advance. Not much thoughts otherwise, but it has its charm and hope to see more of it.
