I'll give it to you straight: Rock Band is worse than Guitar Hero for one big reason. The Rock Band guitar sucks. It just does. It's too clicky, too imprecise, less forgiving. It just feels inferior from the second you hit your first note. So there's that. As for drums, they are the standout instrument of the package and you can have a blast banging away and getting into the grove... until the pedal or one of the drum heads breaks, rendering the entire thing unusable, doomed to sit next to your entertainment console until the end of the console generation when you finally realize it's time to admit you were never going to buy a new one because you already had your fun and it's time to move one. Oh and the singing aspect is nonsense. The pitch-grading is just busted. I do really like the setlist though. Hey you know, it was a lot of fun for one Christmas break. That's all you can really ask for in the end. It kinda felt like the whole rhythm game resurgence was already sort of coming to an end at this point but it was a really fun last hurrah.
