I've wanted to love this game since the day it came out as I loved 2017, edf2, and more recently 4.1. Amazing concept but not so good execution. The atmosphere is weak. I don't really feel the danger of an alien invasion. And I don't know much about Earth Defense Force series but, seriously, is this humanity's best strategy to defeat aliens? To send a bunch of guys against millions of huge insects and giant robots? Gameplay is repetitive and guns feel like water pistol. Eventually I quit playing at the middle of second chapter. I hope someday we can see a big budget alien invasion title.

Insect Armageddon - Inevitable Disappointment

Welp, here it comes, the first disappointing entry I've played so far in the EDF series. What makes Insect Armageddon's fun so flawed? Mind you, it's still fun, but...

Less levels? Check. Less outlandish and interesting character classes? Check. Less enemies? Check. Longer levels muddled with needless objectives? Check.

However! Cheeky dialogue? Check. Improved graphical capabilities? Surprisingly checked.

For those simple bits, it seems Vicious Cycle was out to bring a Western touch to the EDF series; however, they failed to catch what made it so much fun, with it missing the variety and crazy fun of the previous games. If you've played through the EDF series though and need more of a fix, it's still a fair bit of fun!

Hilarious and fun, through and through. Just like Earth Defence force 2017 before it. Excellent fun to have with a buddy or two. 4 Character classes to choose form and to level up. Fantastic game. Only 9.99 on STEAM atm. Check it out!
