Theme Hospital is a business simulation game developed by Bullfrog Productions and published by Electronic Arts in 1997, in which the player designs and operates a hospital. Like most of Bullfrog's games, Theme Hospital is permeated by an eccentric sense of humour. The game is the thematic successor to Theme Park, a game also produced by Bullfrog. The game was a massive commercial success, selling over 4 million copies worldwide.

This game is fun at first but get progressively more annoying with the latter levels. I got fed up with it and dropped it. The constant "epidemic alert" are ridiculous, I have to scan all my hospital searching for the sick people then my time ends before the timer finishes. I also can't put anything in my hospital without other things bring me up my attention (this epidemics, machines broken down, doctors wanting a rise, some stupid vip, some emergency patients), I can't legit concentrate in anything because of this. Also, the announcer is annoying was hell, she keeps calling doctors to the rooms that I didn't even finish yet!!

And I dropped at level 6, I don't want even to know how the last levels are lol

A quick search brought up CorsixTH, a mod that ports the game to a more modern engine (with basically the same assets). Played it for a few minutes until i got sick of doctors constantly milling …

The intro is great though:

I finally finished it! After trying many times as a kid but failing, because of vomit waves or a surgeon being stuck or whatever. When Two Point Hospital came out, I made the decision not to buy it until I finish the original silly hospital game. Now I will just wait for a good discount :)

Silly, but pretty fun

I played this game with my SO, it actually wasn't too bad of a game. To be honest, we weren't being totally serious about it, just kind of throwing things everywhere. The premise is that you are given X amount of money to design and run your hospital, so you have to put in the rooms, hire the right staff, …

I played this game with my SO, it actually wasn't too bad of a game. To be honest, we weren't being totally serious about it, just kind of throwing things everywhere. The premise is that you are given X amount of money to design and run your hospital, so you have to put in the rooms, hire the right staff, and make sure everything is going smoothly. I played this on the Playstation, which made it super difficult to navigate the menus and around the map quickly enough, but it was silly and intriguing enough that we played it for a good while. I'm not sure if I will ever finish it thought...
