Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem is a remake of Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. It is the second Fire Emblem remake for the Nintendo DS. It was released on July 15, 2010 in Japan. The game utilizes the Wi-Fi Connection in a similar manner to Shadow Dragon. This is the only Fire Emblem DS game to not be released overseas. The game also contains an exclusive mode which remakes the four chapters of BS Fire Emblem: Archanea Senki Hen, a Satellaview exclusive game, with new new engine and mission-based gameplay (instead of time-based, like the original), but lacking the voice acting that the Satellaview version originally provided. Stuck on chapter 19 on hard mode. Who thought it was a good idea to spam 8 reinforcements from the castle area every second turn that attacks directly?

Will probably try for 3-4 more hours, and then give up on this title.

Well, despite having a much smoother time with FE11 this time around, I ended up putting this one down for a while just 10 or so maps in again. I'm not sure why I have such a hard time getting through Fire Emblem games! Gonna try to play some this week.

The game was decent, although I have to say storywise it was quite weak. A lot of elements were recycled from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, including almost all characters. It felt like the game was doing a lot of fan service, which is nice, but made it quite stale in my opinion. Fun Fact: I think I read somewhere that this game had the most units to choose from in the entire series (not sure if that's still the case), which is a funny thing and quite useless since in Fire Emblem games, you can only use a few characters the whole game to be able to keep up level wise, so most units end up not getting used all game anyway.

Unfortunately I got the bad ending. To unlock the true ending, you need to collect specific items, which you only realize once the game is over. I freaking hate that mechanic! Developers, don't make us play through the whole game again to see the end just because we missed something during the game, that's no fun. I wish I wouldn't encounter stuff like that too often. Thank you.
