Knotwords is a minimal and elegant logic puzzle — with words. The rules are simple: arrange the letters in each section so every word is valid, across and down. Each puzzle may seem difficult at first — but like all my favorite newspaper puzzles, it gets easier as you progress. Each step guides you naturally towards the solution.

I saw the Wordle guy say this was good, and I trust the Wordle guy with my life (Wordle guy for president in 2024!), and he is right this is good.

It is also very different than Wordle. It is similar in the fact that it is a word puzzle game, but different in almost every other way. It is kinda like Crossword meets Sudoku. Which ends up being really nice for me because I know a lot of words, but most of them out of context.

I know transubstantiation, but am I gunna use it in this review? No way!

Knotwords ends up being perfect as I end up just trying words out to see if they fit. And unlike the crossword where everything crumbles if one of your guesses is wrong, it feel natural and kinda easy to rebuild because you are picking from a limited set of letter. There are only so many options what the word could be!

Sadly Knotwords does not reach the highs of Wordle in its gameplay or its social element. Much like my hero, Wordle guy, I recommend Knotwords. But unlike him, I am not gunna tweet about it.
