Runner3 continues the joyous adventures of CommanderVideo from BIT.TRIP RUNNER and Runner2. Players will encounter quests, branching paths, new character moves, new Retro Challenges, and a roster of characters that somehow manages to rival the strangeness of Runner2.

This one left me a little cold. I loved Runner2, but found this more frustrating and less engaging then the previous game. It is still pretty fun, but I never reached a point where I felt like I was fully immersed and reacting instinctively to the challenges. It incorporates more 3d elements, like branching paths, but most of these are only accessible after beating the levels once. I much preffered the vertical branches from Runner2 where you had to make a quick decision on whether to risk the harder path. There are also flying and driving segments. These are fine, but the looser controls are jarring compared to the rest of the game. There are plenty of collectibles and missions to unlock characters and other stuff, but I mostly just liked the sliding and jumping (and dancing).
