Fortunately, each "dungeon" level switches up the genre of gameplay so it stays pretty fresh for a playthrough. Unfortunately one must go through a lengthy replay several times to get each additional ending. The side content (optional quests, gardening, fishing) are all a bit lackluster, leaving a lot to be desired. Fortunately, the narrative is engaging and provocative. Ultimately it's the quality of the story, characters, and worldbuilding that won me over.

Just as much of a masterpiece as Nier Automata. This is now a favorite series of mine.

The youtube algorithm gifted me with this excellent video on The Song of the Ancients. Massive spoiler warning, don't watch if you've not rolled credits in the game:
Jonathan Barouch does an excellent job of breaking down music theory to a level that's able to be grasped by beginners while still being interesting to those with more knowledge. Better yet, …

Jonathan Barouch does an excellent job of breaking down music theory to a level that's able to be grasped by beginners while still being interesting to those with more knowledge. Better yet, he has a deep understanding of the lore and themes in Nier, and does a stellar job of relating the musical choices to their thematic impacts. Can't believe the dude only has 8,000 subs.

It's impressive that Yoko Taro has managed to convince me to both replay a game and do my best at speedrunning. I mean, I'd have preferred he didn't, but it is what it is. Every time I think about going back to this to get the other endings I remember what it would cost me:

Despite Nier: Automata being one of my favorite games, I'm not the biggest fan of Replicant 1.22... so far. I trust that things will pick up, but the first 8 hours have been very middling. The music is excellent at least.

Ok, so I've beaten ending A of Neir Replicant and just like Automata, there are more endings. However, I'm not sure I can be arsed this time, so my question is, how long until I get the true ending and is that ending E? What I've read online is a bit confusing.
Many thanks. Lots of love. Inc.

I'm finally on Route E and...
... that was a REALLY nice surprise.
(Don't let anyone spoil this to you)
Edit: If you don't know how to get to route E, you should finish the game twice (endings A and B) then finish the game again after getting all weapons and choose to

When starting the game from zero again, pick a different name for the main character (this is important) and reach the second boss fight with Hook at the Airie. You'll be at route E after you defeat her and reach Kainé.

Kainé is my favorite character in Nier Replicant, but she is also heavily sexualized and I hate that. I hate the way the game tries to "justify it" and how it uses her sexuality as shock value to make a point and not to give her and interesting background.

(Yes, that's official artwork).

Never finished Rebel Galaxy, but the Nier Remake is incredible. I'm currently fishing for Ending C, having finally grown enough Pink Moonflower Seeds to complete the last side quest I had left. Super weird, doesn't make sense, great soundtrack. This time with better gameplay! I really hope they make a dad Nier DLC though. I'd absolutely buy that.
