PATHWAY strives to be an Indiana Jones pixel-roguelike-tactics-adventure game, and the first few hours are exactly this. But the majority of your time will be tedious, boring, and lackluster.
This game would've been pretty good if it wasn't for the amount of repetitiveness in the game itself, every single time in a round you click on a spot, you don't know whether if it will be an attacking spot or not, and every time it is, it doesn't give a feeling that you would keep going and going forward, which makes you close the game. The beginning starts off good, but when you progress deeper in the game, it has not a lot to offer after that. I thought this would be a good Indiana Jones style kind of game..
For me this was a clickbait. Good trailer and visuals, absolutely boring game loop.
This is a pretty simple, but very well polished turn-based short adventure game. I like it for the intuitive mechanics, okay narration and story and the Indiana Jones vibe. That being said, the game lacks some more serious metagame or rewarding feeling of accomplishment, because the only way you can truly challenge yourself is to just raise the difficulty of the fights and it seems a bit cheap. I played through 3 adventures, tested out various playstyles and I think I've seen everything the game has to offer, which is not a lot, but nicely packed.
