Despite being part of the Trails franchise, it has no direct relationship with the other entries, and its gameplay is more similar (though inferior) to the YS franchise. In The Legend of Nayuta, you must travel across four continents, each representing a season of the year. On each continent, you must navigate through various levels, and as the story progresses, you gain the ability to change the seasons. Changing the season of a continent alters all the levels, requiring you to traverse each level at least four times across all continents. The boss battles bear a strong resemblance to those in Ys. In total, you will have to navigate through 50 platform levels; of these, 20 can only be unlocked after you finish the main story. Additionally, there are other levels that consist solely of boss fights. In each level, you have a mission, three diamonds to find, and one or two chests as well. Failing to meet the objectives will cause you to repeat the same level over and over again until you achieve them. Only then will you be able to acquire new skills in the game.
