Alto’s Odyssey is an endless sandboarding journey set against an ever-changing desert landscape. The game features Alto series hallmarks like fluid physics-based movement, procedurally generated terrain, and dynamic lighting and weather effects. Players will soar above windswept dunes, traverse thrilling canyons, and explore long-hidden temple cities in a fantastical place far from Alto’s home village.

BMO's review of Alto's Odyssey

I can't deny that this game is aesthetically very appealing. I don't know if is that I just burnt myself out on free-runners during the first few years of iOS/Android gaming or if Alto's Odyssey simply doesn't bring anything new to the table to make it feel fresh, but I didn't feel drawn or compelled to playing more than the few hours I put into the game.

Like The First, But Worse

This is almost exactly the same game as Alto's Adventure, but they added awful balloon jumps and somehow made chasms much harder to jump. I have no idea how but i couldn't even get past the chasm in the tutorial, it never was a problem in the first game. It also has all of the same flaws, they basically learnt nothing.

A Masterful Little Phone Game

Incredibly fun and rewarding, I just wish there was more to do once the challenges run out.

Been playing the hell out of this all day. I don't know what it is that makes this infinite runner feel so much better than others I've played, but I'm very hooked. It has a nice progression system where you have to complete challenges to 'Level Up,' and I think that's part of it. I'm not so much focused on the endless "get a good score" which can be unsatisfactory. I constantly feel like I'm building towards something and sharpening my skills while doing so. It's also just super pretty too.
