Mega Man & Bass is an entry in the classic Mega Man series, with option for controlling either Mega Man or Bass, due to Dr. Wily and Dr. Light making a truce to fight against King. The game was originally released only in Japan, but a later Game Boy Advance port had an international release.

Beat the game. The 1st few bosses were very difficult because I did not have the weapon to counter them. They became quite easy with the appropriate counter weapon. I liked the bolt weapon the most for its invincibility frames followed by the drill and remote mine. All the weapons were pretty good though. I purchased the communication device and weakness analyzer 1st followed by auto charge up. By the end of the game I was using super armor for getting around, energy saver in boss fights to get more use out of the weapons (coupled with save state scumming to avoid damage, otherwise I would spend more time in the menu switching back and forth) and the hp regen before bosses. I did not bother with collectibles, revisiting levels or playing as Bass.

Good game but not among the best on the SNES. Most annoying was the timed block platforming. The platforming itself is also off because as long as the very tip of his toe or heel is on solid ground Megaman is good. This lead to constantly thinking he would not make the jumps and some under shooting.

If you are going to play mega man, be sure and play the absolute best game in the entire series. And be sure to play the SNES platform which has superior visuals.

Rockman and Forte is not only the hardest Mega Man game (featuring the tightest platforming sections and trickiest bosses) but it's also the best looking one. The game featured custom hardware putting it's pixel art at the level of an advanced PS1 game, in fact the ps1 Mega Man games rip sprites from this, giving it beautiful cartoony look. If you thought the NES games looked good, you really need to see this. It also had some of the most interesting and distinct designs. The game is the most refined point in the franchise: after they really nailed good level design (people that praise Mega Man 2 only like that game because it was easy. It's by no means the peak of level design) but before the difficulty took a nose dive and gimmicks were added to compensate.
