Read moreI'm going to go to bat for this game. I played it on the Switch and the mechanics work so much better than a lot of retro inspired games that I've tried. There is a decent amount of challenge to exploring the bite-sized levels. The challenges are all fair. The levels are small enough that it doesn't feel like a burden to explore them for hidden items. There are a lot of unlockable power-ups to customize your play style. You can focus on speed, power, or magic. It doesn't change the world but there aren't any glaring flaws. I enjoyed it enough to finish the game and search for all of the collectables.
