Awesome Idea Executed Poorly
I absolutely love the idea of Pokémon mixed with a CCG but the execution is poor. The UI is really clunky, especially the choice of 'E' as end turn button is bad. I absolutely love the idea of Pokémon mixed with a CCG but the execution is poor. The UI is really clunky, especially the choice of 'E' as end turn button is bad. Another big drawback is that your party doesn't heal at the end of each battle. This means that a single enemy attack can completely ruin your run. It also invites cheesy tactics where you keep stalling the battle against a single enemy just to use your monsters' healing skills.
Balance is even worse. I was doing just fine until i ran into a group of four enemies where two started out with a 17 damage group attack. Even with the defense-boosting hero and a defense-boosting artifact i lost half my party in the first round. The weirdest thing is that this node was marked as "normal". I had just beaten an "elite" node without any problems. Huh?
